Our annual Dublin Kitesurfing and SUPing Competition is back in 2017. The Battle for the Bay is set to return on Sat 20th & Sun 21 May 2017. All ages are welcome – free entry for young and old! The concept of the Battle is very simple: Fun, Wind, Water…and Fun!!!
The best riders in the country and from around the globe will come and compete in one of the best kitesurfing spots in the world:
Dollymount Beach! Home to our Puremagic gang. This will be the 1st leg of the IKSA (Irish Kitesurfing Association) Tour.
The SUP event continues to grow with even more racing formats, something to suit everyone. Look out for the Liffey part and the new Relay Fun Race! After a long winter of hard training, we are very excited to welcome again the Irish stop of the KITEBOARDER-X TOUR! Join us for a very unique weekend at the beach! Everyone is welcomed, young and old, to join this amazing celebration of Irish Kitesurfing, SUP and beach Extravaganza!
The idea of the event is to have as much fun as possible. So bring your friends, your family, to enjoy an amazing extreme water show and have a great day on the beach! Demonstrations of new toys will be organised thanks to our Watersport partners…it will be the best chance you have to try out what’s hot or ask the pros from some reviews!
If you want to learn about the sport, powerkite and SUP introductions will be offered by qualified instructors.Who knows, you could be competing by next year! There will be live music stages with great Bands and Djs playing all day long some cool tunes. And there’ll be plenty to eat at the Food Village. Plus Funfair Attractions and a Kids Zone and The Biodiversity Village for the kids.
The Biodiversity Village is a exciting place to explore the wildlife of Dublin Bay with some very friendly Experts! Experience highly recommended for the family!
So bring your picnic blanket, swimming trunks and suntan lotion (and maybe an umbrella just in case) and come down to the beach!
The fun doesn’t stop on the beach. There will be lots of late night parties at partner venues locally and in the city centre when the sun goes down! This year Expect SOME Magic Line-up!!!!

THE CHURCH in city centre will host the 2017 Pure Magic PArty: Theme of the year: a BIG HAWAIIAN & HOLY PARTY! Come dressed with pineapples or candles, come as Surfer or a Nun and mix in the crowds… Its gonna be a very Sunny Party!

Are you ready to handle it?
Wind conditions at Dollymount are generally very good, the beach is considered to be one of the best kitesurfing spots in the world! And is on the doorstep of Dublin’s city centre.
It is a magical spot with the beautiful surroundings of the nature reserve at Bull Island and the occasional flaming sunset colors. Shallow waters and 4 km of sandy beaches makes this spot a heaven for kitesurfers. Thanks to the local authorities and the action of IKSA, KItesurfing has been growing there in a very sustainable way and it is with great pride that we try to keep it like that! When the wind dies, Bull Island is the perfect heaven for Stand-up Paddle boarders, cruise around the island, surf the Ferry Wave or Explore the majestic Ireland ‘s Eye!
