THEY CAME LAST YEAR in DUBLIN:
Nick Jacobsen Actor
“Nick Jacobsen is the craziest character in the sport of kiteboarding.” Words from SurferToday: “You’ll confirm it for yourself. Huge wave jumps, nude kiteboarding, caravan life, dangerous lake transfers, firing rides, jumps over piers, freestyle atrocities, swimming pool stunts, and skate kiteboarding are some of the experiences Nick made in 2015.
In the last four years, the Danish rider jumped from a shipwreck’s crane, bounced off the top of Necker Island, and even leaped from Azzam’s 30-meter mast.
Nick Jacobsen won’t stop adding crumbs of innovation to kiteboarding. Let’s hope he never hurts himself. Because the level of audacity has risen to an insane point.”
We can not wait to see Nick in Action on the Boarder Cross… It will be messy oh yeah
Big thanks to cabrinha and NP for making the magic possible.

Jalou Langeree (23) is top of the world in kitesurfing. She is current world champion wave riding and leads the ladies world-ranking list. Jalou is determined to be the best and stay the best. That’s her life. She started as a freestyle kitesurfer on the age of twelve. Winning many international titles has put Jalou on the top of a short list of world-class kitesurfers. In 2011 she got a kick out of riding the waves and started training for the KSP world tour. Her dedication to be the best in that discipline as well did pay off. She trained very intensely for almost a year before she allowed herself to attend the tour. She was immediately selected and became the best of the world at first time! It illustrates the passion with which Jalou sports.

Peter Kosinski, Stand Up Paddle Boarder
‘My name is Peter Kosinski a Stand up paddle board athlete from Ireland. I am 18 years old and compete in National, European and International SUP events. Last year I was Irish SUP racing Champion and vice – UK SUP racing champion. Plus I had a podium finish at the worlds most elite sup race at Battle of the Paddle, California in the Junior stock race.
The Battle for the Bay\Dublin Bay SUP classic is the leading Irish watersports event. This was one of my first events which I ever competed in and started my SUP career on Dollymount Beach. The 2015 Battle for the Bay is going to be the biggest yet. I can’t wait to line up on the start line in the heart of Dublin City…..”
Katie McAnena, Windsurfer
SPecial Ambassador 2015 and for the most amazing reason Katie will be too busy this May 2016 to join us and all our team is really wishing her the best of the best for this incredible moment. We love you Katie!
Her Profile from last year:
I’m 28, from Salthill in Galway, now living in Strandhill in Sligo. I started windsurfing when I was 14 or so and started SUP (standup paddleboard) surfing a few years ago which also led me to start a bit of SUP racing 18 months ago.
I qualified as a doctor from NUIGalway in 2011 and am currently a GP trainee working in Sligo General Hospital. I work anything from 60-80 hours per week.
In terms of training it’s always been tricky to balance work and sport but living in Sligo I can access the waves much more easily which maximises my time on the water more.
I have been competing in windsurfing in the discipline of wave-sailing for 8 years. I am 5 times Irish ladies champion. I also compete on the American Windsurfing Tour and had my first contest win on that tour this February in Cabo Verde which puts me ranked no.1 in the USA currently. I have been competing on that tour for 3 years now and have had multiple podium finishes.
I have been competing in SUP surfing for a few years and have multiple Irish ladies titles. I am currently ranked no.1 for ladies SUP surfing and for the technical class of SUP racing. I represented ireland at the world championships in Peru for SUP surfing in 2013. In terms of the battle for the bay I won the ladies marathon race and came 3rd in the men’s survivor race and 1st in the ladies survivor race.
